Aluminium 5083 Alloy

Aluminium 5083 Alloy
Aluminium 5083 Alloy
This is an aluminium alloy with magnesium and a very small amount of manganese and chromium. It has a high resistance to corrosion by seawater and chemicals.
Alloy 5083 retains excellent strength after welding. It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys it has an Ultimate Tensile Strength of 317 MPa or 46000 psi and a Tensile Yield Strength of 228 MPa or 33000 psi. It is not the chosen alloy for use in temperatures in excess of 65 °C
Alloy also is known as
Alloy 5083 can also be referred to as the following grades and specifications but they may not always be a direct equivalent.
